Privacy policy

What we know about you, why we know it, and your rights under Canadian privacy law.

What we collect

When you buy a ticket we collect your name, your email address, and your purchase history — which events, which seats, what you paid. That's the list. There is no account to create and no password to remember.

Why we collect it

Two reasons: to deliver your tickets (the QR codes go to your email), and to send service messages about your order — like an event being moved or cancelled. Service messages are not marketing; they are the messages you would be upset not to get.

Your card number

Payments are processed by Stripe, a payment processor used across Canada. Your card details go directly to Stripe — they never touch our servers, and we never see or store your card number.

Where your data lives

Order and ticket records are stored in a Microsoft Azure database hosted in Canada. Access is restricted to the systems that run Virden Live.

Marketing email

We only send marketing email — things like game announcements or presales — if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time, and saying no has no effect on your tickets.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your information. It is shared only with the services that make ticketing work — Stripe to take payment, our email provider to deliver your tickets — and with the organizer of the event you bought into (for example, the club whose game you attended), so they can run their event. Virden Live is operated by 3CTech, which processes your information to run the ticketing service itself.

Your rights

Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) gives you the right to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, and to ask for it to be deleted. Ask the box office and we will do it. If something can't be deleted — like a record we have to keep for tax purposes — we will tell you why.
